Empathy And How To Share It With Others

Empathy comes with understanding and respecting each other's thoughts and feelings. ' You will never understand another person point of view unless you see a situation from their perspective''. As this is the way, human beings can behave like human beings otherwise there is no difference between an animal and humans.

Empathy is the essential human quality which is to be mastered even in our modern world, and it is easy to lose sight of other person feelings. However, is it easy to learn how to master this skill? Yes. Almost every human being can learn to develop this crucial human characteristic within themselves and encourage others to be more empathetic too.
Offcourse, practice makes man perfect, and the more you practise, the better your emotional wellness will become leading to happiness.

Even if you are busy at work or any other activity, always take out time to ask for others well being around you. E.g.:- employer and employee disputes. If both the parties repeat what other side has said before speaking themselves, an argument can be solved twice faster than usual.

See a human being in everyone

See that human being hidden within you and everyone else, on whom you depend on, in your everyday life. Bare in mind of every single individual connected to you in your daily life. For example:- if you stop in a burger shop at 7 am, think about the people who leave their houses at 5 am two hours earlier than you, just so that they can serve you at 7 am with that delicious burger you like to eat as your breakfast every morning. Talk to everyone

When Selina was born she used to sleep, don't cry at all for good 12 hours even the midwives employed to praise Selina for her relaxing habits.
Surprisingly she didn't sleep for the first two nights at all. Then the next day she slept only for two hours and after that just short naps.
Took a pediatrician appointment and we came to know Selina was suffering from acid reflux. Medications were prescribed, and even after that she only has broken sleep, and in the night she wakes up every 45 minutes and cries, soi have to wake up and feed her and make her comfortable till she sleeps again.
I always feel exhausted and short-tempered during daytime as having to do laundry, washing dishes, checking on Selina most of the time I get next to no sleep. The other day I spent nearly 10 minutes opening the front door holding Selina in my arms. I am lost and full of error in anything I do, as my brains don't work more.

Answer:-
Reflux is indeed a stressful situation for the mum and the newborn. Baby should have naps after every one and a half hour of staying awake. My baby teething is lasting forever

Alice is a mum to two kids Alex who’s 4 years old and 7-month-old daughter Gina, who says,


With Alex I had no problem since he was 5 months, but with Gina, as she’s started teething, she has a hard time to sleep, she wakes up crying, and then it takes 40 mins to settle down again, and this happens every two hours.
I can see she is in pain - so we rush to apply teething gel and give her, and while she's crying we hear  Alex shouting '' Shut Up Baby Shut up ! ''. it is really stressful to see your child suffering in this way. And some days were teething will wake Gina up by 4am, so our day starts by 4am. I find the easiest job to be the hardest, like the other day we were going shopping and it took me 10 minutes to open the door of my car. I am trying every day thinking it will get better one day as nothing lasts forever.

Luckily teething pain comes after a particular time, and between time A and B, make your baby sleep as they will sleep better . Make a time schedule during the day and night. Try and sleep with the baby as that will help you recover from anxiety and short temper. My baby will only sleep if she's lying on me

Christine is a mum to one-year-old Asha and Declan who is 3 years old, Says,


Asha was a sweet sleeper until she was four months old, I started giving her bottle milk during the day, but in the night before sleeping, she would be breastfed and sleep. The moment she felt the loss of contact with me, she would wake up and cry, and I had to breastfeed her again so she could settle down. Since that day she would only sleep when I am in bed with her and even if its 8 pm I would have to be in bed with her and watch Netflix.It not only made my days shorter but cut off all my ties with meeting up with my friends.
At 10 months old as stopped breastfeeding, she was comfortable with bottle milk, but she still wanted me by her side, I couldn't leave her alone on the bed else she would cry, now she wakes up during the night climbs on top of my chest and then sleeps.
I'd instead want her to be in her own bed, but I don't want to push it, but through a slow process, so she can sleep by herself.

Answers:-
GP consultation should be taken as this might be a case of acid reflux. That is the reason she climbs on your chest to be comfortable. When the baby slopes on you gently, try to lay her down beside you and slowly mover her to the cot, and you sleep on the mattress closer to the bed. This is a gentle and a gradual process which would allow her to get used to sleeping alone.

My Son wants to breastfeed to settle

kirsty  is a mum to Sasha who's 4 years old and her little brother Eddie who is 18 months old, she says.'


Breastfeeding Eddie before bed in the night was always a part of his routine from the time of his birth, when he was 18 months old we decided to move his cot to a different room. That first night was bliss as he had his milk and went to sleep and no crying at all.
But, recently I stopped breastfeeding Ed- my husband, me, Eddie and Sasha we were going on holiday to Mexico, so I thought it was the right time to stop breastfeeding. Surprisingly, when we came back, Eddie was confused at bedtime- I could feel he wanted to be fed milk.
My husband usually takes Eddie to bed, which helps, but most of the times it takes longer for him to sleep. He is now so used to being fed for 18 months that he wakes up at the slightest noise in the house, and the bond is so strong that he only sleep after being fed, and I am worried about Eddie as I have cut him off.

Answers:-
If your baby is used to being fed before he sleeps, then it is hard for him to sleep because of the habit of being already developed for an extended period of time. You can feed him at a different time, then just before he sleeps in the night. Try to break the habit of feeding with breast or bottle to relax. Try to give him a comforter but tuck it down your top first, so that it smells of you.

Nightmares and night terror keep my toddler awake

Monalisa is a mum to two-year-old Ashley and Ava, 7 months, she says,


Ava since the time she was born has never been a great sleeper,  from around 8 months to nearly two, she would only sleep in our beds most of the night, as that is the just we could sleep. Since I put her back into her own bed, she started to have nightmares or night terror- sometimes to the point that she would not stop crying at all.
It looks to get more and worse as days are passing by and shes sleeping lesser and lesser due to the nightmares she dreams of. Especially during the days when she's busy playing and had no sleep at all in daytime.she would wake up very distressed and disturbed, then I have to pick her up and take her out of her room for a stroll, as she feels more uncomfortable in that room. Sometimes it could take up to 2 hours before she sleeps again.
I get very little sleep, as most nights pass by making her feel comfortable and put her back to sleep, I am either making Ava sleep or feeding Ashley.

Answers:-
Night terrors and nightmares are most often mixed with each other. If your baby is awake and wants to leave the room its a nightmare. This is when they are dreaming stage one, remember it and wake up. A night terror usually happens in the first three hours of your baby gone to sleep.
They usually don't wake up but talk move their hands and legs around and won't remember nothing. Try to speak with Ava during the daytime during giving her bath about the worries she has. If she had a busy day, then let her sleep a little early, as overtiredness can cause nightmares. Use the term '' it's OK, mummy's here''. It would not only help her gain more faith in you but also make her feel secure mentally.

 

My twins keep disturbing each other's sleep.

Jamelia is a mum to two-year-old George and Gavin who are twins, she says,


I did receive one of the best pieces of advice from a friend is to get the twins into the same schedule, feeding together, and sleeping at the same time. Otherwise, you never get time for a break!. I listened to my friend initially, and it worked really well, but as George reached 18 months, I found out that George was not always ready for his nap and disturbs Gavin at nap time.
As they have a double buggy, they are side by side, so instead of sleeping the mess about and tease each other, George will take his bottle of milk and drink it, and Gavin just cries as he has no liquid left, it's funny to see it but get serious when they don't sleep when they should.
At bedtime, they are in the same room, and Gavin struggles to sleep as George teases him, which prevent him from sleeping and Gavin out of restlessness cries as he can't sleep even tho he wants to. Bedtime is when the house is full of noise and laughter and cries. I have got a habit of giving them both milk in the night, so if they wake up in the night both need milk to settle down again. I know its an easy option to feed them both but hope it will change as they grow up more.
Me getting into this crazy schedule has ended up in loss of sleep for me, and I get acid reflux due to non-digestion, also due to lack of sleep I get angry real quick, and all this situation has changed me into a complete impatient mum.

It is always a fact that one twin needs more sleep than the other.  Asleep aid is a good distraction, which would stop George and Gavin from disturbing each other. It's because their brains would get tuned into the sound, which would take their attention off each other and divert it into constant music. Reduce the amount of milk feed gradually to stop night feed. Follow this plan for a week and then stop altogether. Praise them when they behave well or whenever they settle down quickly so that they feel right about it and do it regularly for them to make it as a habit.
