France, Next stop For British Buyers After Brexit

France, Next stop For British Buyers After Brexit

France is known to have the next destination as British buyers after Brexit will be on top of the list, as they are home to good quality food and life in the sun.
There has been an increase of 17% than the last year, as expats living out there already or coming across the English channel to buy their dream home there, these figures confirmed by ‘’BNP Paribas international Buyers’’ latest report. In contrast, there was a drop of 18% in sales to non-resident British buyers, suggested the main reason behind was the shift in motivations since the Eu referendum.

Three out of ten brits used to buy Holiday homes and investment properties before Brexit has risen to four out of ten after the Brexit compared to 2017.
As the Brexit transition period ending in the year, 2020 and British nationals have the same rights in the EU as the EU citizens in the UK, a majority of British nationals are more keen towards moving across the channel for good. As this political war of Brexit does not seems to conclude,is making everyone uncertain about their stay in the UK whether it’s the EU nationals or the British citizens.
Buyer is tired of no resolution of the Brexit problem, so why wait for the last minute? Mover to France and live happy away from all the stress. Despite the decline in non-resident buyers in France, British buyers are about a quarter as in a foreign national population of France, but we are the top on the buyer's list in all of France.

Foreign investors in the year 2016-2017 used to spend an average of 308,000 euros, which dropped to 303,000 from 2017-2018. British buyers tightened their pockets, where non-residents of the UK shelled around 252,000 euros for a French home, while citizens of France spent 209,000 euros on an average.

Many properties selling agents for Brits wanting to buy properties in France have never seen such high demands for inquiries for purchasing French properties. Bear in mind these are not the people doing window shopping but serious buyers.

In the year 2016 total house sales for a year was 5.1 million euro, which rose up to 5. Million euros in the year 2017 and sales in the year 2018 could rise to 7.4 million euros. Moreover with low-interest rates offered will attract more serious buyers, creating an ideal time for British buying their future home in France.

Whereas UK house prices have stayed stagnant for years, which might drop because of Brexit making it harder for British homeowner to get a reasonable price for their properties in the UK so that they can settle down in France.

Ideal location in France to buy a house in the south-west of France known as Aquitaine and Poitou-Charentes. The area with the highest demand is the Old Rhone-Alps region which is known for its beautiful ski resorts as well as the Rhone valley situated above Provence.

There are so many attractive locations available for the buyer, and the capital city of Paris is not untouched either, as it provides the facility to buy affordable homes or apartments with a lot of job and business opportunities. Unlike in the UK where the problem consistently rises with all the Brexit situation as the most severely hit area is the car industry where Brexit plays a pivotal role between the UK and the EU.

On the whole, France is a beautiful destination, not just to escape the Brexit situation but it also gives you a chance to live a less stressed and stable lifestyle.

Where do you want your new home in France?
